Ultherapy PRIME

What it is

Ultherapy PRIME delivers micro-focused ultrasound (MFUS) down to the SMAS — the fibromuscular layer a surgeon lifts in a facelift. Energy is focused at a point below the surface, raising that point to a thermal coagulation temperature of roughly 60 to 70°C while the skin above it is left intact.

Why PRIME is different

The PRIME platform carries DeepSEE real-time ultrasound imaging. The doctor sees the layers of your own tissue on screen, to a depth of up to 8 mm, before any energy is delivered — so the depth is chosen for your anatomy rather than from a protocol sheet. Several transducers are used in one session to reach different depths across the face and neck.

Approval

Ultherapy is FDA-approved for lifting.

What to expect

There is no downtime. The change is progressive rather than immediate: it begins to show one to two months after the session, as collagen remodels, and holds for several months after that.
